Nature Playspace adjacent to Beasley’s Nursery, Warrandyte

This is the first nature playspace designed by Simon. It was done while working on Wombat Bend in 2006. A portion of the asphalt carpark was transformed into a playspace with a mound slide, sand pit, indigenous plantings and shade trees. Runoff from the remaining carpark was directed to a water treatment swale and raingarden, visually connected to a dry creek bed designed as part of the playspace. It was awarded Best Playground of the Year by PRAV (now Play Australia) in 2007.
