The Grampians PARC is a therapeutic facility where people can feel safe and assisted while recovering from mental illness. It provides short-term accommodation for people needing early intervention or requiring clinical treatment, or who are recovering from an acute illness and need some extra support. The facility is designed in a welcoming and informal way.
The facility is constructed in between refurbished heritage buildings. A pathway leads through a large picturesque suburban front garden, with the entry door opening directly to a dining and living room space where meals are prepared and shared. The gardens emanate from the dining room, with a central spine of indigenous plantings connecting all the wings. The courtyard is furnished with informal seating and contains productive raised garden beds and clothes-drying racks, providing an informal outdoor living room. To the North, a large existing oak tree shades an outdoor dining area with BBQ facilities.
