The project at Castlemaine developed the garden to provide new outside living spaces instead of renovating the interior floorplan. The key was the addition of a new large deck and pergola in place of the original front porch. The deck and pergola structure creates outdoor rooms for this weekender. Local goldfields rock and toppings with indigenous and native plantings surround the deck and pergola, providing the owners with an immediate link to the surrounding landscape in their own garden.
